Jeanette's Story

I am a proud Tampa native! Yes, that's right! A rarity, I know!
A former paralegal, I had over 20 years in the legal field. During my tenure as a paralegal, I spent much of my "spare time" in study at USF or in practice at the closest yoga studio. A student of life or a student for life, either way that's me. After attending a trade-school for my paralegal certificate, and after starting my family, I enrolled in college. That was a huge step, I enrolled in college!! So I became a full-time paralegal, a part-time student, and a round-the-clock mom. The schedule was, and still is, hectic to say the least. ![]()
Well, I received my associates degree and moved right over to the local university. At USF, I am working towards my degree in Globalization (only a half dozen courses to go). Should we ever have the luck to meet, I would love to discuss the study of Globalization with you further, but for purposes here suffice to say one of my educational and professional goals is to enter the school system. Another goal is to go on to get my master's in Global Education, and instead of retirement I hope to teach here and abroad.
During this level of activity over the course of many years, YOGA has been my only escape, my only solace, my Thing, my time for me, my BLISS!
The decision to follow my bliss, to deepen my practice, and to share yoga with others, just like becoming a Globalization teacher, has been both challenging and rewarding. From the Courtroom to the classroom to the Yoga Studio is a path I am grateful to walk (or peddle - if you know me :)
Now, that's not all I have been up to in my adult life! Over the course of this path, James and I have become Reiki Masters, an energetic yet relaxing adventure all should experience. Mostly we have done volunteer work with Reiki and it too has been repeatedly rewarding on many different levels and under a variety of circumstances.
Plus, I happened across World Laughter Day on Indian Rocks Beach. Enthusiastically, I embraced Laughter Yoga for its feel-good vibe. There is much potential for everyone, especially the elderly and disabled, to instantly feel the health benefits, to get that internal massage, and to have a warm glow on their faces.
I have seen many people stressed out by the demands of the Law and facing the onset of serious health problems as a result. It was an easy leap to include Laughter Yoga in my tool box and to join in on the laughter movement.
And most recently, I received my certification in Radiant Child Yoga, with high hopes of developing an after school program for middle schoolers. Yeah, that age is a tough crowd, but I am up to the challenge. Plus, the middle schoolers in my village are inspiringly receptive to yoga's focus and discipline.
No rest yet. Teaching and practicing yoga is my bliss, and yes, I am still attending to my scholarly pursuits, while I am still parenting my growing children. The best news is I am still dreaming of the person I can become and how all these studies will fit together someday. Who knows maybe one day I will have the honor of opening a teaching and healing center...
A girl can dream! And, I dream BIG!!!

An opportunity to give THANKS...
Thank you to James, my children, the rest of my family, and my close friends for their continued support. I have encountered some amazing and inspiring people along my journey.
"When the student is ready, the teacher will appear," true, true, TRUE. All lessons are learned from the right teacher who appeared out of thin air at precisely the right moment. Thank you to every teacher that I have ever had. Respect and admiration to you ALL.
Last but not least, THANK YOU for taking the time to look through my website. I hope it has been informative and interesting; with any luck perhaps we shall meet in a yoga class one day.
"Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti, Om"; Peace unto you and unto the whole world. Namaste.
There are no coincidences. Everything happens for a reason --- the people you meet, the things you hear or read...
You are most certainly reading this for a reason...it could be a sign ---It's time for Yoga!
